Job Description:

The Cybersecurity Specialist provides advanced cyber defense and compliance expertise in support of FAA automation systems across the National Airspace System (NAS). This role focuses on protecting mission-critical automation platforms (ERAMS, STARS, ATOP, MEARTS, TFDM, TFMS, AAC, etc.) from evolving cyber threats while ensuring secure design, implementation, and sustainment of systems that support continuous FAA operations. Professionals in this role will apply RMF principles, assess risks, and drive cybersecurity strategy across large-scale, complex programs. Positions are available at the mid, senior, and lead levels.

Mid-Level
  • Minimum 7+ years of related experience, with BS (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience providing cybersecurity and/or cyber defense support to large, complex organizations.
  • Working knowledge of current and emerging cyber threats and corresponding defense TTPs.
  • Familiarity with RMF and its application to mission-critical systems.
  • Exposure to FAA NAS Automation systems or other large-scale automation environments.

Senior
  • Minimum 10+ years of related experience, with BS (or equivalent experience).
  • Extensive experience delivering cybersecurity and cyber defense solutions for automation systems within large, complex organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of cyber threats and ability to tailor defense strategies to automation environments.
  • Hands-on experience applying RMF across technical projects and system lifecycles.
  • Experience supporting FAA or other mission-critical operations, with familiarity of NAS Automation systems (ERAMS, STARS, ATOP, MEARTS, TFDM, TFMS, AAC, etc.).

Lead
  • Minimum 15+ years of related experience, with BS (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven ability to lead cybersecurity efforts across enterprise automation systems and mission-critical programs.
  • Expert knowledge of RMF, including its application to FAA programs and ATO RMF processes.
  • Skilled at identifying, mitigating, and communicating risks tied to evolving cyber threats in automation environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership in shaping cyber strategy and governance to secure FAA NAS Automation systems.
  • Ability to mentor teams, engage with FAA stakeholders, and influence cyber-related decisions impacting automation system performance and availability.

Salary Range: $86,700.00 - $151,700.00
