Workday Financials FDM Administrator - Permanent job

NO 3^RD PARTIES. THIS IS A PERMANENT POSITION requiring onsite 4 days per week in Houston.

Our client is already live on Workday HCM & FINS. They re looking to hire a fulltime permanent Workday Financials FDM Administrator.

Responsibilities/Scope:

• Act as the SME for Workday Financials, supporting stabilization efforts and driving continuous enhancements across core finance modules.
• Quickly onboard with the existing project team, then independently lead assigned workstreams from design through deployment.
• Design, configure, and optimize Workday Financials modules including FDM, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Supplier & Customer Accounts, Fixed Assets, Procurement, Banking & Settlement, and Financial Reporting.
• Serve as the lead architect for Workday Financials implementations, providing solution design and best practices.
• Collaborate effectively with finance leadership, technical teams, and project managers to ensure successful implementation, testing, training, and post-go-live support.
• Facilitate testing phases, user training, and deployment activities to promote user adoption and ensure solution quality.
• Support integrations with Workday (EIB, Studio, Core Connectors) and third-party systems, troubleshooting and optimizing as needed.
• Stay current on Workday Community updates, release notes, and industry best practices to inform ongoing support and enhancements.
• Provide ongoing support, identify opportunities for system improvements, and implement enhancements post-implementation.
• Ensure robust security configurations and segregation of duties within Workday Financials.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Deep expertise in Workday Financials modules: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Procurement.
• Advanced understanding of Workday Financial Data Model (FDM) and its application to enterprise financial reporting and compliance.
• Strong knowledge of financial operations and internal control frameworks such as GAAP and SOX.
• Proven experience in configuring and managing Workday security structures within Financials modules.
• Hands-on experience with Workday integration tools, including EIB, Studio, and Core Connectors.
• Demonstrated success leading end-to-end implementations or significant system enhancements.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple deliverables independently in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have:

• Background in finance or accounting roles before consulting or system administration.
• Workday Financials certification or related module certifications.
• Experience with multi-entity or global financial systems implementations.
• Prior involvement in post-go-live stabilization, optimization, and continuous improvement projects.
