Job Description: Agile Coach
We are seeking an experienced Agile Coach to join our Agile Enablement team, supporting the rapid scaling and adoption of SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) across the organization. This role is pivotal in coaching teams, delivering SAFe training, and enabling leadership to drive continuous improvement and business agility.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Coaching & Launch Facilitation

- Provide hands-on coaching for new and existing Agile teams, including launch preparation, execution, and stabilization.
- Assess team maturity and Scrum Master practices; deliver tailored coaching plans and improvement recommendations.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies and ensure alignment with SAFe delivery playbooks, metrics, and governance.
- SAFe Training & Onboarding

- Deliver SAFe courses (SP, SSM/SASM, POPM, Product Manager, and leadership workshops).
- Support the "Born in SAFe" onboarding pipeline, ensuring all new hires complete mandatory SAFe training within required timelines.
- Coordinate with HR and Agile Enablement to maintain training throughput.
- Leadership & Stakeholder Enablement

- Coach AVPs, Directors, and Product/Delivery leaders on SAFe adoption, prioritization, backlog management, and value delivery.
- Facilitate leadership workshops and maturity deep dives.
- Capacity Surge & Scaling
-
- Provide scalable coaching resources to deliver a ~50% increase in capacity during peak periods (e.g., Q1).
- Implement a flexible ramp-up/ramp-down model to adjust coaching capacity based on demand.
- Agile Enablement Framework

- Enable and enhance the Agile Enablement Framework, including processes, playbooks, templates, and governance routines.
- Define and operationalize KPIs for Agile performance (flow, predictability, maturity, team health).
- Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

- Maintain delivery quality through structured retrospectives, feedback cycles, and adherence to SAFe best practices.
- Identify and implement opportunities to optimize onboarding, team launch processes, and training delivery.
- Reporting & Metrics
-
- Produce standardized progress reports, coaching metrics, and training attendance data for dashboards and governance.
- Ensure secure handling of all data in accordance with enterprise privacy and compliance requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 7+ years of experience in Agile coaching, transformation, or related roles, with a proven track record of leading Agile teams and driving SAFe adoption at scale.
- Agile & SAFe Expertise: Deep knowledge of Agile principles, SAFe frameworks, and coaching practices.
- Certification: Current SAFe certifications relevant to delivery scope (e.g., SPC, RTE, SSM, SASM, POPM, APM, SA). Authorization to deliver accredited SAFe courses is a plus.
- Training & Facilitation: Experience delivering SAFe training and facilitating workshops for teams and leadership.
- Tools: Proficiency with Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, Miro, Mural, and enterprise collaboration platforms (e.g., MS Teams).
- Reporting: Ability to produce coaching metrics and training data compatible with enterprise dashboards.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills. Ability to coach, mentor, and influence at all levels.
- Background: Experience in Agile transformation, team launches, and scaling frameworks (SAFe preferred).
Nice to Have
- Experience with advanced agile instruction (e.g., Product Manager classes, leadership-focused workshops).
- Pharmaceutical or regulated industry experience.
- Familiarity with hybrid and virtual facilitation.
