Description

Seeking a Senior Systems/Network Engineer, working with a diverse team of contractors, government personnel and subject matter experts, focused on creating and recognizing targeting opportunities and strategies in the cyber-realm. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated and excel in independent and small-team environments, demonstrating strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities include:

Supporting a variety of networks and systems in a mission-critical enterprise environment.

Excel independently and in small-team environments, demonstrating strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with minimal supervision.

Proactively seek out opportunities to learn new skills and willingly share knowledge with junior team members.

Initiative in finding and prioritizing tasks, including security audits and patch management, is essential.

Excellent communication skills are crucial, particularly in defusing situations and interacting with individuals unfamiliar with technology.

The role involves collaboration with various government, subcontractor, and SAIC personnel on project-based assignments.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelors and 9 years or more experience. Masters and 7 years or more experience. Or 13 years of experience in lieu of degree.

Security+ or CISSP certification on day one.

KEY - Advance knowledge of RedHat Linux and RedHat OpenShift

KEY - Expertise in managing Linux servers and infrastructure.

Expertise virtualization technologies and infrastructure.

Proficiency in shell scripting and automation using tools like Bash, Python, or Perl.

Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.

Knowledge of networking protocols and troubleshooting network issues.

Experience with utilizing Digital Certificates for authentication.

Understanding of security best practices and experience implementing security measures.

Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker.

Ability to diagnose and resolve system performance issues.

Experience with monitoring and logging tools.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Continuous learning and keeping up-to-date with the latest Linux technologies and trends.

Desired Certifications, Skills, Expertise:

Knowledge of UNIX and Linux.

Experience with Cisco infrastructure equipment.

Experience working with serial console terminal servers.

Knowledge of classified communication systems.

Knowledge of Mac OSX is desired, but not required.

Knowledge of VPN technology and implementation.

Working knowledge of popular, legacy, and new social media, blog sites, and mobile applications.

Working knowledge of deep web and dark web.

Clearance/Citizenship Requirements:

U.S. Citizenship with an active Top Secret Clearance with ability to obtain SCI (Active and/or PR within last 6 years)

CI Poly (active or ability to obtain)

Additional Information:

The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a small team with minimal supervision. Daily responsibilities include design, development, and ongoing maintenance of cluster and virtualized environment.
