Leads data science projects from end-to-end, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, identifying business requirements, gathering data, researching analytics solution, and integrating solutions into business processes
Conducts advanced statistical analysis to determine trends and significant data relationships, and proactively recommends areas of improvement
Develops complex data sets and predictive models to support key decisions to improve safety, employee engagement, operation efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction (e.g., cost-benefit, invest-divest, forecasting, predictive, what-if, impact analysis, etc.)
Prepares and delivers insightful presentations and action recommendations. Educates leaders and crews on complex analytical findings in laymen terms and with storytelling / data visualization
Identifies and evaluates technologies and provides strategic inputs to advance the organization s analytics capabilities
Mentors the team of data scientists by guiding their professional development in conjunction with the team manager
Actively researches new technologies in related subjects and supports the organization to develop data analytics strategies and roadmaps

  • Conducts regular data maturity assessments to identify existing capabilities, gaps, and pain points in data management and analytics. Adapts strategies to evolving technologies, market trends, and regulatory environments.
  • Develops and maintains long-term data science roadmaps and investment plans, ensuring they are integrated with organizational objectives.
  • Establishes and maintains processes to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with regulations while developing advanced analytics algorithms.
  • Promotes the ethical use of AI and machine learning models.
  • Advocates for data privacy and promotes best security practices and ethical use of AI and machine learning models in the implementation of data science projects.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of AI/ML models and predictive analytics solutions across the enterprise.
  • Establishes key performance indicators (KPIs) for data science projects to measure success and return on investment (ROI).
  • Communicates insights and recommendations effectively to executives and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Advocates for the optimized use of big data platforms, cloud computing, and advanced analytics algorithms.
  • Stays updated on trends in AI, big data, and machine learning.
  • Evaluates and integrates emerging technologies to optimally serve customers.
  • Leads initiatives to explore new methodologies and tools within the organization.
  • Mentors and trains data scientists, analysts, and engineers across the enterprise to build a high-performing data science team. Develops coursework and training programs for data scientists/engineers.
  • Fosters strong partnerships with other departments to identify data-driven decision-making initiatives.
  • Promotes a collaborative and innovative team environment by leading by example and demonstrating best practices in data science and analytics.
  • Leads and delivers data science projects from inception to completion, ensuring projects are completed with the highest quality, on time, and within budget.
  • Implements quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data science outputs.


Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

This is a multi-track base requirement job; education and experience requirements can be satisfied through one of the following options:
o Bachelor s degree and 10 years of experience, inclusive of 3 years of leading experience working as a team or project lead in a data analytical or computer programming function; or
o Master s degree and 8 years of experience, inclusive of 3 years of leading experience working as a team or project lead in a data analytical or computer programming function; or
o Ph.D. degree and 6 years of experience, inclusive of 3 years of leading experience working as the team or project lead in a data analytical or computer programming function
5 years of experience in qualitative and quantitative analytics (e.g., data mining, regression analysis, hypothesis testing, A/B testing, predictive modeling, model optimization, time series analysis, cluster analysis, natural language processing/text analytics, and segmentation)
