Title: Senior Wireless Scientist - Software Engineer
Location: Remote
Job Description:
Our client, a 30-year-old wireless planning software provider, has an opening for a Physics or Mathematics Ph. D. (or Ph. D. candidate) with C# programming ability.
This software will be used for RF path analysis, radio propagation & interference calculations, 5G/LTE/Cellular network planning, plus Smart Grid and Mesh Radio applications. Therefore, the ideal candidate will have some experience in RF & wireless technology plus a foundation in Physics or Mathematics. Though this position is Remote, intensive daily teamwork is required, working in an Agile environment, using JIRA for sprints and ticketing.
Ideal candidates will be tenacious in their desire to dig into problems, learn the underlying technology being modeled, and develop C# code to produce the solutions. The other members on this software team will rely on this individual to Never Give Up in the quest to solve problems and support the team as though they are family members.
Job Responsibilities:
• Create and maintain wireless planning software using C#.
• Understand and support the software’s mission of RF path analysis (point-to-point and point-to-multipoint), radio propagation studies, Heat Maps, and 5G/LTE/Cellular network planning.
• Will dig into the required technology and create planning tools for Smart Grid and Self-Organizing Mesh radio networks.
• Collaborate with other software engineers and with sales, marketing, & product management, in a small team environment (much like a family), to ensure the end solutions exceed customer expectations.
Required Experience:
· 3-5 year of experience in C# software coding.
· Theoretical background in Physics and/or Mathematics.
· 3-5 years exposure to wireless technology (microwave radio, RF path analysis, cellular networks, 5G/LTE networks, etc.).
· Experience working in Agile environment using JIRA for sprints and ticketing.
· Some experience with User-Dialog, User-Interface, or GUI development.
· Desired familiarity with GIS data and terrain/topographical analysis.
· Desired experience with Web Services using Azure and REST APIs.
Education:
· Master’s degree in Physics or Mathematics is required.
· Ph. D. in Physics or Mathematics is preferred.
