For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $96,000-$144,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Schneider Electric is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer to join our Consulting Services Organization. This field-based role is focused on delivering high-impact solutions in Protection, Control, and Automation (PCA) systems. You will work directly with customers and internal teams to lead installations, modernizations, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical systems.

As a site leader, you will ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with customer goals, specifications, and budgets. You will also mentor junior engineers and technicians, promoting best practices in safety, testing, and installation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead onsite installation, commissioning, and modernization of PCA systems.
  • Develop and modify PLC and HMI programs for automatic transfer applications.
  • Configure and test protection relays and control systems.
  • Interpret and revise electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and one-line drawings.
  • Perform system startup and commissioning based on Sequence of Operations (SOO).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system performance issues.
  • Create and manage Bills of Materials (BOM) based on project requirements.
  • Deliver clear and concise technical reports and documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal engineers and customer stakeholders to meet project goals.
  • Maintain high technical proficiency across all Consulting Services PCA offerings.
  • Mentor team members on safe work practices and technical procedures.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
  • 5-10 years of hands-on field experience in electrical systems, protection, and controls.
  • Proven expertise in PLC programming, relay configuration, and system commissioning.
  • Familiarity with switchgear automation and electrical distribution systems.
  • Experience with electrical testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to interpret engineering documents, codes, and standards.
  • Strong understanding of electrical power systems and control logic.
  • BSEE preferred but not required.
