Responsibilities:
  • Administer a Linux Red Hat RHCE and Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Install, support, test, and troubleshoot applications.
  • Prepare formal written technical content for the development, implementation, and management of projects.
  • Prepare standard operating procedures (SOP), architecture diagrams, program roadmaps, checklists, and root cause analysis reports.
  • Conduct change and configuration management to include logging changes, creating instruction, and validating that changes were implemented successfully.
  • Administer backups and restores using NetBackup.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Eleven (11) years' experience as a Linux Administrator (Including experience with Red Hat Linux RHEL 6, 7, and/or 8).
  • The ability to clearly communicate technical issues to management and provide guidance to other technical staff.
  • Experience with software container technology (desired: OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Virtualization experience (desired: VMware).
  • Deployment & configuration automation experience (desired: BMC BladeLogic or TrueSight Automation).
  • MS in computer science, information technology, or equivalent discipline; or, a BS and at least 4 additional years' experience or relevant certifications such as Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) and Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA).

Desired:
  • Database administration experience (desired: Microsoft SQL, MySQL, or Informix).
  • Demonstrated effective project management experience.
  • Backup and restore experience (desired: NetBackup).
  • System monitoring experience (desired: Zabbix).
