Overview

This opening is for the role of Senior Manager, Tech Venture & Innovation ("PepsiCo Labs"). This person will be a critical leader in running tech innovation initiatives across key areas of Consumer & Commercial. Partnering closely with Business/Function and Transformation leads, this person will run innovation programs to identify key business priorities for tech innovation, scout and evaluate solutions to identify the most relevant and advantaged, and run well-designed pilots to vet the solutions and business impact. In addition to the innovation programs, this role will be a key lead in other areas of focus for PepsiCo Labs - partnering with key Business leads to provide external inspiration and help shape future big bets, tech venture investments and co-innovation with strategic tech partners.

Responsibilities

  • Co-lead, with Business/Function owners & S&T Transformation, innovation program to identify strategic priorities for tech innovation, scout for advantaged solutions and run pilots to prove impact
    • Partner with Business/Function/Transformation to identify strategic priorities for tech innovation and build scouting briefs
    • Manage process selecting vendors for POC/pilot - ensure startup solutions are a 'big enough idea' to be top-of-mind for executive sponsors
    • Facilitate project kick-offs with PEP & vendors to co-lead development of pilot charter - define use case, scope, resources, assign team and align KPIs
    • Lead implementation of Rapid Pilot Process - including collaborating closely with support functions including S&T, InfoSec, Legal.
    • Manage POCs/pilots with weekly business partner calls
    • Ensure close tracking of KPIs and reporting/visibility to senior leadership - monthly senior sponsor calls
  • Partner with S&T Transformation and Business/Function owners to provide external inspiration to help inform and shape future big bet transformation priorities
  • Work closely with business partners across S&T, Business and Function to align, connect dots and ensure a coordinated innovation approach across the organization
  • Lead planning & execution of key program events - immersion sessions, kick-offs, interim & final events with senior leaders and vendors
  • Create ongoing and inspiring communications on progress to gain executive support & continue infusing innovation culture
  • Support tech venture investments and co-innovation initiatives across Consumer & Commercial areas

Compensation and Benefits:
  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $118,700 - $198,800.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 15% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

  • Min. 14 years experience (education & work experience combined)
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas - Digital Solutions/Transformation, Project management, Commercialization, Strategy, Finance, M&A, Functional experience in Consumer or Commercial areas (e.g. Marketing, Sales, Capabilities)
  • Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills
  • Ability to think strategically and translate to action to 'get things done'
  • Know-how of how to "wire" into PEP - experience at PEP or working in a multinational company with matrix processes and activities
  • Experience in leading complex and multi-functional project teams
  • Effective communication (written and oral) to senior management
  • Flexibility and ability to deal with complexity under time pressure
  • Preferred: base knowledge of technology platforms
