Job Details

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve automation issues on automated assembly lines, injection molding, and metal processing equipment
  • Conduct machine and process capability studies, implementing improvements as needed
  • Support APQP, FMEA, and Control Plan development and review processes
  • Commission, program, and optimize automated equipment, robots, and machine controls
  • Develop automation concepts for new projects and collaborate with Industrial Engineering
  • Write and update work instructions, training material, and technical documentation
  • Identify and implement process optimization measures to improve quality, reduce costs, and increase efficiency
  • Lead problem-solving efforts including 8D activities, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality regulations (ISO/IATF standards)
  • Provide training to operators, engineers, and interns on automation systems
  • Plan spare parts requirements and support long-term equipment reliability

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)
  • 3+ years of automation or process engineering experience in manufacturing
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across automation, robotics, and control systems
  • Experience with schematics (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic)
  • Proficiency in MS Office and statistical analysis methods
  • Knowledge of manufacturing standards such as IATF and ISO
  • Project management skills with cross-functional teams
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and in teams

Nice to Haves

  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following systems: Siemens Step 7, TwinCAT 3, Kuka KR C4 robots, Mitsubishi Scara, Beckhoff IPC, LabVIEW, - Cognex or Keyence cameras, Trumpf or LPKF laser systems, ATEQ leak testers, Baltec, Bosch IndraDrive
  • Knowledge of PLC programming, robotics integration, and industrial databases (Oracle, OT/IT connectivity)
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma or data-driven process improvement methodologies
