Overview

We are seeking a senior-level Solutions Architect to support the development of a new Risk Rating Web Application for a major financial institution. This role is part of a broader initiative to modernize risk analytics platforms and bring quantitative modeling capabilities into alignment with enterprise cloud standards. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead in ambiguity while aligning with enterprise policies and practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect scalable, cost-optimized application frameworks on Google Cloud Platform, with a focus on avoiding over-engineering while meeting business needs.
  • Support the infrastructure and deployment strategy for a new risk rating application, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and cloud standards.
  • Collaborate with the client s infrastructure team to implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, adhering to internal standards for naming, tagging, and service account scopes.
  • Guide the design and deployment of containerized services using Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes.
  • Partner with a technical lead on the client side to align architecture decisions with enterprise policies and long-term platform strategy.
  • Translate complex quantitative modeling and risk analytics requirements into technical solutions that are understandable to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of a modular, microservices-based architecture that separates frontend, backend, and modeling services to accelerate model deployment and flexibility.

Success in this role requires the ability to lead through ambiguity, communicate across technical and non-technical teams, and influence architecture decisions in a collaborative environment.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience designing and implementing scalable, cost-effective architectures on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Hands-on expertise with Terraform and IaC practices in enterprise environments.
  • Strong background in containerization and orchestration using Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Python in the context of quantitative modeling, risk analytics, or financial applications.
  • Familiarity with FastAPI or similar frameworks for building backend services.
  • Ability to lead in ambiguous environments and communicate effectively across technical and business teams.
  • Financial services experience, particularly in risk management or analytics, is highly preferred.

Nice to Have

  • Experience modernizing legacy applications and integrating with existing .NET systems.
  • Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as Vue or React.
