Job Details

Nutanix Engineer provides advanced technical support for Nutanix and VMware environments, focusing on migration , troubleshooting, resolving complex issues, and ensuring optimal performance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:

Diagnosing and resolving complex issues related to Nutanix HCI (including Prism Central, AHV, LCM), VMware vSphere, and related components.

  • Root Cause Analysis:

Investigating incidents, identifying the underlying causes, and implementing solutions to prevent recurrence.

  • Nutanix/VMware Administration:

Deploying, configuring, and optimizing Nutanix clusters and VMware environments.

Design, deploy, and configure Nutanix HCI infrastructure including AOS, AHV, Prism Central, Files, Flow, and Calm.

Plan and execute VM migrations from VMware vSphere/ESXi to Nutanix AHV using Nutanix Move or similar tools.

Migration experience using Nutanix Move or other tools to move VMs from VMware to Nutanix AHV.

  • Monitoring and Maintenance:

Utilizing monitoring tools to ensure system health, performance, and availability.

  • Documentation:

Creating and maintaining technical documentation, including configuration guides and standard operating procedures.

  • Project Involvement:

Participating in projects related to Nutanix and VMware implementations, upgrades, and migrations.

  • Communication and Collaboration:

Effectively communicating with clients, vendors, and other team members to resolve issues and share knowledge.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong technical expertise in Nutanix and VMware technologies: Deep knowledge of Nutanix Prism, AHV, storage solutions, and VMware vSphere, including ESXi, vCenter, and vSAN.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills: Ability to quickly identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Experience with disaster recovery solutions: VMware Site Recovery Manager, Nutanix Disaster Recovery.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with security hardening, compliance, and monitoring in HCI environments.
  • Understanding of ITIL processes: Knowledge of IT service management best practices.

Additional Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with other virtualization platforms: Hyper-V, KVM.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts: TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP.
  • Certifications: Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP), VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
  • Automation and Scripting: Developing and implementing scripts (e.g., using Python or Ansible) to automate routine tasks and improve efficiency.
