We are looking for Laboratory Technician for our client in Indianapolis, IN
Job Title: Laboratory Technician

Job Description:
  • The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for preparing sterile media, dispensing materials, maintaining aseptic techniques, performing quality control activities, managing inventory, troubleshooting process deviations, and supporting laboratory process improvement initiatives.
  • This role requires strong attention to detail, technical proficiency, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
Requirement/Must Have:
  • Associate s or Bachelor s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  • Experience with aseptic techniques such as pipetting sterile media, pouring agar plates, and working in biosafety cabinets or laminar flow hoods.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Experience:
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools such as JMP preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare sterile media using autoclaves, mediaclaves, reactors, and other sterilization technologies.
  • Weigh, sterilize, and dispense media into containers such as plates, flasks, and bottles using automated liquid handlers and peristaltic pumps while following SOPs and job aids.
  • Apply sterile and aseptic handling techniques throughout all processes.
  • Perform quality checks on prepared media, including streaking plates, measuring pH, and inspecting for contamination using microscopy.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order required chemicals and consumables.
  • Identify and assist in troubleshooting process deviations and contamination events.
  • Participate in process improvement projects to enhance laboratory operations and efficiency.
