Job Title: Senior Systems Analyst
Location: Hybrid in either Richmond, VA 23219 or Cayce, SC 29033W2 Employment Only – No Corp to Corp / C2C arrangements
Position Overview:
This opportunity is part of an enterprise-wide IT application support initiative to increase capacity for internal teams managing both ongoing system improvements and long-term development initiatives. The role was created as part of a team augmentation strategy to address increased volume and support scalability in system enhancement and business process automation. The selected candidate will be working in a hybrid capacity alongside analysts, developers, architects, and UX specialists in a collaborative environment focused on operational efficiency and multi-platform solutions. The team operates across a variety of business units and functions as a liaison between internal users and technical solution providers. Reporting into a senior manager within IT Application Services, the role contributes to enterprise project delivery with regular coordination across departments. The Senior Systems Analyst will be responsible for translating business needs into clear documentation for system design and development. The role includes both independent and collaborative tasks across the application lifecycle, requiring candidates to lead efforts in defining project scope, system functionality, and interface usability. The analyst will be expected to participate in high-level discussions with stakeholders and deliver documentation that will serve as the foundation for development. This role is not limited to a single project and will span multiple business initiatives, requiring flexibility and strong multitasking skills within an enterprise environment.
Required Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education and experience
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in systems analysis and project management
- Experience leading enterprise-level application development efforts across multiple project phases
- Strong understanding of relational database design with practical experience in Dataverse, SQL, Oracle, and SharePoint
- Experience with cross-platform development considerations for laptop, tablet, and mobile device compatibility
- Ability to evaluate and adapt rapidly evolving technologies to fit business needs
- Proven experience collaborating with business stakeholders to define and document system requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to create diagrams and documentation for system requirements
- Demonstrated competency in logical thinking, analytical reasoning, and independent problem solving
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize deadlines, and operate under pressure
- Self-motivated and quality-oriented with the ability to work independently
Preferred Skills (Not Required):
- Experience working in the energy or utilities sector
- Prior involvement with multi-year, enterprise-level IT application initiatives
- Familiarity with UX/UI collaboration workflows
Day to Day/Responsibilities:
- Work independently and collaboratively to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables across multiple enterprise initiatives
- Conduct meetings with business users and stakeholders to gather detailed requirements and translate those into system specifications
- Create diagrams, documentation, and models that represent workflow and application design needs for development teams
- Partner with UX specialists, developers, and system architects to ensure technical alignment and feasibility of solutions
- Lead the development of system procedures to solve complex multi-phase projects, ensuring cross-platform compatibility for laptops, tablets, and phones
- Guide application development efforts by ensuring specifications are correctly interpreted and aligned with user expectations
- Monitor project progress and ensure deliverables meet timelines and quality standards
- Interface with teams using Dataverse, SQL, Oracle, and SharePoint for data integration and system connectivity
- Analyze existing systems and propose modifications or optimizations based on business requirements and performance metrics
- Stay up to date with technological advancements relevant to business application needs and recommend integration paths
- Document and resolve any roadblocks during development phases through structured problem-solving and decision-making processes
- Communicate system changes, enhancements, and project status updates with stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment
- Adapt workflows and project assignments based on evolving team priorities and organizational direction
