Lead Data Scientist

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Lead Data Scientist in Greenwood Village, CO.

Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Lead Data Scientist to drive advanced analytics initiatives within the telecommunications space. This role combines hands-on data science expertise with leadership responsibilities, guiding a team through complex analytical challenges and delivering impactful business insights. The ideal candidate is a curious and self-starting professional with deep experience in statistical analysis, machine learning, and cloud-based data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the design and execution of data science projects, including exploratory data analysis (EDA), regression modeling, and clustering algorithms
* Architect and implement scalable data science workflows using Python, SQL, and AWS
* Develop and review visualizations using Plotly, Seaborn, or Matplotlib to effectively communicate technical findings to stakeholders
* Mentor and guide junior data scientists and analysts, promoting best practices in data science and coding
* Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business questions into data-driven solutions
* Build and maintain robust models that support operational and strategic decisions
* Drive adoption of statistical thinking and experimentation across the organization
* Utilize shell scripting or Bash within Linux environments to automate processes and manage data pipelines
* Present findings and recommendations with clarity and influence at all levels of the organization

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of applied experience in data science, including hands-on work in regression, clustering, and EDA
* Advanced proficiency in Python and its data science ecosystem
* Deep understanding of statistics and its application to real-world problems
* Proven experience creating impactful visualizations using Plotly, Seaborn, or Matplotlib
* Strong skills in SQL for complex data querying and transformation
* Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services for deploying and scaling models
* Experience working in Linux environments and developing shell scripts or Bash automations
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and align teams
* Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
* Background in or exposure to the telecommunications industry is highly desirable

Preferred Qualifications:
* Leadership experience managing or mentoring technical teams
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and version control (Git)
* Experience designing experiments or A/B testing frameworks

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
