Job Details

Title Failure Lead and Failure Engineer - 84914

Location : Onsite in Cupertino Monday - Friday.

SHIFT : Need 2X engineers to be be flexible to work swing shift. (12-9PM or 3-11PM)

RATE : DOE W2-CONTRACT -No C2C

Experience: 8-10 Years

Mandatory Skills: VLSI Board Design

In Scope Lab Services:

  • Receives, sorts, and catalogues samples for incoming requests
  • Front-end imaging of samples upon intake
  • Keeps and maintains log of lab SOP s and consumable inventories
  • Returns and/or scraps samples at the end of the investigations
  • Execution of lab maintenance activities
  • Assists in tool maintenance, calibration, and overseeing service technician visits

Analysis:

  • Receives experiment plan and SOPs
  • Prepares samples for analysis and executes data collection
  • Compiles data, documents findings, and provides summary to FA Lead or Apple DRIs for interpretation and conclusion

Responsibilities

  • Lead/train new team members
  • Weekly Status Reporting & overall project reports/presentation to Apple Leads
  • Execute Failure Analysis tasks independently
  • Daily communication with Apple Leads for written/verbal status update and project hand-off
  • Escalate equipment and workflow issues to Apple Lead and take necessary actions as needed
  • Create and maintain sample handling (secure storage, drop-off/pick-up) logistics
  • Prepare clear & concise test and failure summary keynotes to report data to cross-functional teams
  • Review reports from the team members
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to ensure deadlines are met Interacting with a wide variety of individuals within Hardware teams at Apple to clearly communicate results/status updates
  • Own equipment calibration/maintenance or ensuring reliability of test data

Skills

  • Minimum Bachelors or Masters Degree in Science or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry or an equivalent field)
  • Experience in Failure analysis techniques, such as - Optical Microscopy, X-Ray, SEM/EDS, FTIR, IV curve tracing, LIT, TDR, etc.
  • Experience in sample handling and preparation
  • Knowledge of safe work practices in a lab environment
  • Strong attention to detail for handling delicate lab samples
  • Strong organization skills to keep samples sorted and catalogued
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, be able to speak based on data analysis and statistics and strong attention to details
