Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Linux Systems Engineer to support enterprise-level Linux environments across on-premises, virtualized, and cloud platforms. This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in Linux administration, strong scripting/automation skills, and a passion for solving complex infrastructure challenges. You ll lead critical initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and ensure secure, reliable, and scalable systems.


Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux environments (Ubuntu, CentOS, Rocky9, RHEL) across on-prem, virtual, and cloud infrastructures

  • Implement patch management, performance tuning, encryption, and MFA solutions to ensure compliance and security

  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution for complex Linux server and application issues

  • Develop automation workflows and scripts using Bash, Python, Ansible, or similar tools

  • Lead system upgrades, migrations, capacity planning, and disaster recovery initiatives

  • Deploy monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions; maintain SOPs and documentation

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and mentor junior engineers to drive efficiency and improvement



Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a Linux Systems Engineer, Systems Administrator, or equivalent role
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience
  • Expertise with Linux distributions: Ubuntu, CentOS, Rocky9, RHEL

  • Strong knowledge of virtualization (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V) and/or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)

  • Understanding of networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, VLANs

  • Security background including MFA, endpoint encryption, and vulnerability remediation

  • Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell) and config management (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)

  • Experience integrating with Active Directory or LDAP

  • Exposure to ERP/MES systems (Epicor Manage2000, Aegis Fusion/Factory Logix) and endpoint management tools (Endpoint Central, SCCM, Intune)

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Certifications such as RHCSA/RHCE, CompTIA Linux+, or equivalent preferre
