Senior Workday Manager
Location: Austin/Temple, Texas Area
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days onsite, may increase during go-live periods)
Salary Range: $175,000 - $230,000
Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

- Workday Expertise: 3-4 years hands-on Workday experience with active certification (Prism, Extend, HCM modules)
- Leadership Experience: Proven ability to manage technical teams of 25-30 people including direct reports and contractors
- Large-Scale Implementation Experience: Experience leading PeopleSoft to Workday transitions or similar enterprise HRIS migrations in organizations with 20,000+ employees
Position Overview
Lead the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our Workday platform while managing the critical transition from PeopleSoft. This role oversees a team responsible for ensuring seamless integration and efficient operation across the organization. You'll be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying the Workday platform while ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities
System Leadership & Implementation
- Oversee Workday platform implementation, focusing on HCM, Prism, and Extend modules
- Lead the retirement of existing PeopleSoft system and migration to Workday
- Manage integration with other enterprise systems, ensuring data consistency and reliability
- Design and implement scalable, sustainable solutions with third-party system integrations
Team & Project Management
- Assess current team capabilities (6 FTEs + contractors) and identify optimal staffing strategies
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with HR partners on compliance and data migration requirements
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure timely completion of project milestones
- Manage high-visibility projects requiring strong communication with senior leadership
Process Optimization & Support
- Oversee process automation and simplify payroll design systems
- Redesign reports for scalability, enabling end-user self-service capabilities
- Provide technical support and guidance to IT teams and end-users
- Identify opportunities for system enhancements and implement best practices
Training & Compliance
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for end-users and IT staff
- Ensure platform compliance with all relevant regulations and security standards
- Generate and analyze performance reports to support strategic decision-making
- Collaborate with external vendors and service providers
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Master's degree preferred
Experience:
- 7+ years managing and implementing Workday or similar HRIS platforms
- 3-4 years hands-on Workday experience
- Proven experience leading large-scale projects in corporate environments (20,000+ employees)
- Experience managing technical teams and contractors
Technical Skills:
- Workday certification highly desirable
- Proficiency in Workday integration tools (Studio, EIB, 3rd party coding)
- Strong understanding of data management, system integration, and cloud technologies
- Experience with PeopleSoft to Workday transitions preferred
Leadership & Communication:
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing and mentoring technical teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Collaborative cultural fit for high-visibility HR partnerships
