Role: Braze Developer Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid preferred) Duration: 3 6+ Months Contract
About the Role
We re looking for a Braze Developer with strong experience in retail or e-commerce environments to design, build, and optimize personalized customer engagement campaigns. The ideal candidate is both technically skilled and marketing-savvy, with deep expertise in the Braze platform and a clear understanding of customer lifecycle marketing and omnichannel engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Development & Execution
- Design, develop, and deploy Braze campaigns (email, push, in-app, SMS) for segmented audiences.
- Build personalized customer journeys using Braze Canvas, Liquid scripting, and dynamic segmentation.
- Integrate Braze with other platforms (e.g., CDP, CRM, POS systems, and e-commerce tools).
Data & Analytics
- Utilize event-based data and behavioral triggers to create automated campaigns.
- Collaborate with analytics teams to measure campaign performance (A/B testing, CLV, engagement, retention).
- Ensure data accuracy and reporting alignment with key retail KPIs (e.g., conversion, AOV, cart abandonment).
Integration & Development
- Manage Braze SDK integrations across mobile and web platforms.
- Use APIs, custom events, and SQL to enhance Braze datasets and performance.
- Partner with engineering teams to optimize Braze within the retail technology stack.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with marketing, product, and operations teams to bridge digital engagement and in-store experiences.
- Support loyalty programs, customer segmentation, and automation initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance on Braze setup, configuration, and campaign governance.
Experience & Skills
- 2 5 years of experience with Braze (or similar platforms: Iterable, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Campaign).
- Hands-on experience in retail or e-commerce environments (preferred).
- Strong proficiency in REST APIs, SQL, Liquid scripting, and JSON.
- Familiarity with mobile SDKs, event tracking, and Customer Data Platforms (CDPs).
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of customer lifecycle and marketing automation strategies.
