As a Project Engineer for the Air Turbine Starter (ATS) product line, you will take full ownership and provide technical leadership across a range of engineering and operational functions. This role requires strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and Collins leadership, while also driving initiatives to improve product quality, customer satisfaction, and overall program performance. You will lead root cause investigations, manage supplier transitions, support cost-reduction strategies, and ensure that engineering processes and quality standards are consistently upheld.

What You Will Do
  • Provide Project Engineering leadership and ownership for Air Turbine Starter (ATS) product line
  • Confidently provide clear, concise communications with peers and Collins leadership.
  • Lead Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts to identify causes and mitigation plans for issues affecting program productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction
  • Provide customer support for Field Failure investigations
  • Resolve Supplier Requests for Information (SRIs) by providing clarifications and processing Change Requests (CRs)
  • Manage piece part supplier transitions
  • Pursue cost saving opportunities to maximize project profitability.
  • Consolidate and present plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project.
  • Support Quality investigations as necessary when piece-part issues affect product deliveries.
  • Verify internal processes are being executed to reduce probability of engineering turn backs.
  • Read and interpret drawings, provide mark ups, and coordinate drawing changes

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with mechanical hardware is preferred
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams across department and business units is preferred

The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
