Job Description:
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Network Monitoring Engineer to support a high-visibility contract role within a dynamic and collaborative team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and enhancing network monitoring systems, primarily using Zabbix, and will work across multiple technical domains. This role offers broad exposure across the organization and opportunities to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Network Monitoring Engineer to support a high-visibility contract role within a dynamic and collaborative team. Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and optimize Zabbix monitoring tools
- Integrate monitoring alerts with JIRA workflows
- Collaborate with sister teams including DOCSIS, Backbone, Core, Network, and Video
- Support software updates, vulnerability patching, and alerting automation
- Build and maintain email alerting for critical system events
- Participate in layout design and installation of new systems or modification of existing systems
- Evaluate existing systems and recommend solutions
- Develop and manage systems integration projects
- Identify and resolve system deficiencies
Required Qualifications:
- 5 to 10+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure or network systems
- Hands-on experience with Zabbix or similar tools (e.g., Prometheus, Datadog, Dynatrace)
- Experience with JIRA for ticketing and workflow integration
- Strong understanding of network operations and alerting systems
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively
- Experience planning, designing, and deploying complex systems involving both software and hardware components
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with automation and virtualization technologies, especially those supporting Zabbix
- Exposure to telecommunications environments
- Ability to build alerting logic and escalation workflows
