Description & Requirements
Bloomberg's Fixed Income Pricing group is a market leader in fixed income pricing and provides gold standard pricing services to the financial markets, including being the pricing provider to the Bloomberg Indices. Our solutions include products like BVAL, IBVAL Front Office, CBBT and BGN. We price over 3 million securities across all fixed income asset classes, including thinly traded and hard-to-price fixed income securities. Our customers rely on us to understand markets and analyze complex structures which allow them to make thoughtful investment decisions, which ultimately creates more value for the investor. Our mission is to drive greater transparency, liquidity and safety in global fixed income markets.
To produce this pricing data, we absorb billions of data points from hundreds of financial markets every day. We pipe this data through pricing algorithms which employ quantitative and machine learning techniques. This process produces high quality pricing that the market and our customers need. We also develop applications that provide intelligent analytics and transparency for these prices.
As the Technical Product Manager for the Fixed Income Data Acquisition Platform team, we'll expect you to:
- Own the data pipelines that feed the models that produce all of our pricing products
- Work with a talented engineering team to scope work, solve problems and manage the software delivery pipeline for data architecture that supports real time pricing
- Work with various data provider teams within Bloomberg to identify new sources and integrate various data sources with the existing data pipelines.
- Develop user stories and requirements that will lead to new products, new product features, or improve existing products
- Manage the delivery roadmap for your product area and evaluate strategy based on market trends and stakeholder demand
- Represent Bloomberg to our customers, prospects, and vendor partners
- Communicate solutions and roadmaps via written collateral, meetings, and presentations
- Work with sales and client services teams, globally, to best position and support our solutions
You'll need to have:
- 7+ years of technical product management experience
- Expertise in understanding of fixed Income reference and market data
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks and controls
- Data modeling and data science skills
- Knowledge of scalable data mastery and ingestion solutions
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders to identify priorities for the Fixed income data acquisition platform and the respective ownership of the roadmap
We'd love to see:
- Experience with Kafka, Apache Flink, or Trino
- Experience using SQL or Python to explore data
- Experience in tick level databases and time series analytics
- Systems thinkers - an interest or a natural preference to think about system architecture and how things work together
- Understanding the importance of tracking, managing, and improving system reliability, availability, scalability, and performance
- Experience using tools like JIRA for planning and tracking performance metrics to drive accountability and continuous improvement
- Prior experience in financial services and an understanding of the investment research workflow
