Overview
This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following locations: NC, IL
This position provides advanced technical support for our Rail Car Leasing data processing systems through the enhancement and development of related software and processes. The role focuses on improving the efficiency and functionality of our Rail business units by designing, coding, testing, and implementing system improvements in coordination with management, team members, and end users. The position also provides ongoing production support by resolving system issues and ensuring continuous operational performance. Additionally, this role may oversee the work of less experienced analysts and assist with special projects as assigned.

Preferred Education: Bachelor Degree Preferred Area of Study: Computer Science Preferred Area of Experience: MS.NET; ASP.NET;MVC; SQL Scripting; Powershell Scripting License or Certification Type: Advanced experience with programming languages such as Microsoft .NET (C#); ASP.NET Core;Web API; JavaScript; HTML ; XML; SQL Scripting, Advanced experience with Microsft Azure DevOps or similar code repository system, experience with ServiceNow or other information technology ticketing system, Ability to build strong collaborative and productive relationships, In-depth knowledge of System Life Cycle Development methodology (Waterfall and Agile), Ability to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on a rotating basis
If hired in IL, the base pay for this position is generally between $118,000 and $150,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.

Responsibilities
- System Enhancement - Performs a variety of actions that evaluate and improve department systems, processes, and applications. Utilizes programming specifications to construct modules, develop testing methods, and design materials. Provides new feature time estimates for system changes and assists in implementing modifications. Executes test plans to validate application functions as designed.
- Advanced Technical knowledge of the Rail industry and its data standards related to Car Repair Billing Procedure Manual, AAR Field Manual, ARCI Codes. Working experience and knowledge of the key industry provider Railinc, the core information technology provider for the North American Rail industry.
- Analysis - Collects data related to user requests and determines scope, time estimates, and system impacts. Inspects business specifications, programming specifications, coding, test plans, documentation, and implementation plans for accuracy.
- Business Support - Provides technical support to production systems by addressing reported issues, anticipating maintenance requirements, and ensuring functionality for end user needs. Drafts documentation to be used for system, end user, and operational purposes, including technical specifications and application designs.
- Technical Expertise - Responsible for complex involvement in the software development life cycle including the creation, enhancement, implementation, and evaluation of software. Serves as a technical resource for management, associates, and business units.
- On-call Support - Provides 24/7 on-call support via rotations.
