Role Overview

As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be at the intersection of front-end development and UX design, primarily focusing on accessibility-first design principles. You will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our global design system, component library, taxonomy library, content library, supporting platform best practices, and development team onboarding. In close collaboration with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to enhancing our content management system to provide a best-in-class user experience across multiple communication channels. Leveraging your expertise in React JS, Next JS, Tailwind CSS, and React Native, you will ensure our digital products are intuitive, user-friendly, and accessible to a broad audience. Your work as a Senior Design Engineer will be crucial in delivering a seamless and engaging digital experience to our users.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with UX designers, developers, product managers, and stakeholders to translate design concepts into scalable and accessible user interfaces.

Develop and maintain a comprehensive global design system, component library, taxonomy library, and content library.

Support and maintain headless CMS integration with multiple web applications.

Configure content types and components for a headless CMS.

Implement accessibility best practices, ensuring compliance with WCAG and ADA standards.

Contribute to the development and enhancement of our headless content management system integration to provide a best-in-class user experience across multiple communication channels.

Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using the latest versions of React JS, Next JS, and Tailwind CSS.

Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior team members.

Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve our design and development processes.

Experiment, prototype, and integrate new innovative web technologies and third-party libraries.

Actively participate in agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent related experience.

Proven experience as a front-end developer with a strong focus on UX/UI design.

Extensive knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks such as React JS and Next JS.

Expert in building responsive and accessible web applications using WCAG and ADA guidelines.

Experience with component-driven development and design systems.

Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Additional Beneficial Items

Experience with Tailwind CSS and React Native.

Proficiency with content management systems (CMS) and headless CMS architectures.

Understanding of SEO principles and techniques.
