We are a growing Chemical Manufacturer in Valparaiso, IN, hiring for a Process Engineer to join our team and support our Operations Manager/Development Engineers in the development of new products; implementing statistical process control documentation, equipment/software selection, developing process plannings to ensure products are built to current specifications and review of these plans.

Our ideal candidate will have experience with rotary calciners, tunnel kilns, roller hearth kilns, or spray drying; process development and large scale production of these powder materials.

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Permanent Process Engineer to join our Chemical Manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the development and optimization of our chemical manufacturing processes. This role will involve working closely with our product development team to design, implement, and optimize new product processes. The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining process control documentation and ensuring compliance with ISO-9001 standards. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that is at the forefront of chemical manufacturing and material science.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, monitor, and optimize manufacturing processes and operations for the production of ceramic and inorganic materials.
  • Collaborate with the product development team to design and implement new product processes.
  • Maintain and improve process control documentation to ensure compliance with ISO-9001 standards.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to improve product quality, reduce cost, and improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and solve manufacturing issues.
  • Participate in the design and execution of experiments to support process development and optimization.
  • Conduct material and process risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Train operators and technicians on new processes and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a process engineering role in the chemical manufacturing industry.
  • Experience with ceramic and inorganic materials is required.
  • Strong knowledge of process control documentation and ISO-9001 standards.
  • Experience with new product process planning and implementation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical data.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using software for data analysis and process modeling.
  • Prior experience in product development is a plus.
