Job Title: SAP SD (Sales & Distribution) Workstream Lead

 

Position Summary

The SAP SD Workstream Lead drives the successful delivery of the Sales & Distribution (SD) component within a broader SAP S/4HANA implementation or transformation program. This role combines deep functional expertise in SAP SD with leadership responsibilities to manage the workstream end-to-end, ensure alignment with business processes, and deliver high-quality solutions that support global business operations and strategic goals.


Key Responsibilities

Workstream Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead the SAP SD workstream throughout the full project lifecycle (design, build, test, deploy, go-live, and hypercare).
  • Manage planning, execution, and coordination of SD activities in alignment with the program plan. 
  • Serve as the go-to authority for all SD-related topics, driving decisions on scope, priorities, and trade-offs.
  • Mentor, coordinate, and guide SD consultants, analysts, and cross-functional contributors.

Process & Solution Design

  • Lead requirement-gathering workshops and blueprinting sessions to capture business needs and define target process
  • Translate business requirements into functional design and configuration standards. 
  • Design, validate, and optimize Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes including pricing, credit management, billing, deliveries, and returns.
  • Ensure SD solutions adhere to SAP best practices and global template standards. 

Integration & Testing

  • Oversee integration with related modules such as MM, FI/CO, Logistics Execution (LE), and GTS.
  • Support the creation and execution of functional and regression testing, UAT, and cutover plans.

Deployment & Support

  • Lead go-live activities, hypercare support, and transition to steady-state operations.
  • Provide post-go-live performance monitoring, issue resolution, and process optimization. 

Stakeholder & Change Management

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, process owners, IT teams, and external partners. 
  • Communicate status, risks, and dependencies to program leadership and governance forums. 
  • Support end-user training and adoption activities to ensure successful uptake of new processes and system capabilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Extensive SAP SD experience with multiple full-lifecycle SAP S/4HANA implementations. 
  • Deep knowledge of Sales & Distribution processes (Order Management, Pricing, Billing, Delivery, Credit Management) and integration components. 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. 
  • Proven ability to manage workstreams, deliver results, and lead cross-disciplinary teams. 

Preferred Skills

  • SAP SD or S/4HANA certification.
  • Experience with advanced SD topics such as EDI/IDocs, GTS, ATP, rebate agreements, or subscription billing.
  • Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology and Agile delivery models. 
  • Experience in global rollouts and working across multiple regions/time zones.
