Overview

Cotton Images runs its business on in-house systems: a .NET 8 / Angular / SQL Server ERP and CRM in a hybrid on-prem / AWS environment. We re looking for an IT Systems & DevOps Engineer who can own internal IT (network, servers, endpoints) and work with our developers to improve deployments, automation, and monitoring.

You ll be the primary on-site IT / infrastructure owner, backed by a long-time remote IT consultant and experienced in-house developers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the office network (Fortinet firewall, Meraki switches / Wi-Fi, VPN) and Windows servers.
  • Administer AD, Microsoft 365, and endpoint security for ~130 users.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for Windows desktops / laptops and core business apps.
  • Manage backups and basic DR; monitor system health and security alerts.
  • Support .NET 8 API and Angular front-end deployments; help maintain CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy).
  • Manage supporting AWS resources (EC2, S3, RDS) and on-prem / cloud connectivity.
  • Script automation in PowerShell or Python to reduce toil (user provisioning, health checks, reporting).
  • Improve observability using Serilog, SQL queries, and basic monitoring tools; build better dashboards and alerts over time.
  • Use modern tooling (including AI assistants like Copilot / ChatGPT) to draft scripts, analyze logs, and document work always validating results.

Required Skills

  • 4+ years in IT systems / infrastructure / DevOps roles.
  • Strong Windows Server / AD and Microsoft 365 administration experience.
  • Hands-on network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, Wi-Fi).
  • Scripting with PowerShell and/or Python for automation.
  • Experience deploying / supporting web applications (.NET, IIS, or similar).
  • Solid troubleshooting across servers, networks, and applications.
  • Clear communication with both technical and non-technical users; ability to self-manage work.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • AWS (EC2, S3, RDS), Docker, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform / CloudFormation).
  • Experience with GitHub, Octopus Deploy, Jira / Confluence.
  • Prior use of AI tools or LLM APIs to accelerate scripting / log analysis.
  • Relevant certifications (AWS, Microsoft, CompTIA).
