Job Title: BEST Program Technical Trainer
Duration: 1 Year (Possible extension)
Location: Boston, MA ( Onsite across various Commonwealth agencies (travel required))
Note: Should be local to MA or New England with a Valid DL for the same
Position Overview:
The BEST Program is seeking experienced and dynamic Trainers to support the implementation of a cloud-based financial management system across over 150 Commonwealth agencies. This comprehensive system includes Core Financials, Expenses, Grants Management, Project Management, and Project Billing.
The Trainers will play a critical role in ensuring successful adoption by developing and delivering engaging training content, coordinating training logistics, and supporting users before, during, and after the system go-live.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, review, and deliver training materials, job aids, and support tools tailored to adult learners.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), product vendors, and Commonwealth stakeholders to validate content.
- Facilitate instructor-led and virtual training sessions for individuals and groups.
- Coordinate training logistics: session planning, scheduling, room and equipment arrangements.
- Track training attendance, administer assessments, and evaluate learning outcomes.
- Support end-users with post-implementation guidance and identify process or knowledge gaps.
- Contribute to quality assurance efforts and ensure accessibility of all training materials.
- Create multimedia training content such as instructional videos, step-by-step walkthroughs, and tutorials.
- Participate in software testing to ensure training accuracy and system familiarity.
- Provide regular updates to the BEST Training Lead on training progress and challenges.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3 5 years of experience developing and delivering training within large organizations.
- Proven ability to facilitate learning for various audiences and experience levels.
- Expertise in adult learning principles, instructional design, and performance support.
- Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills (oral and written).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio), MS Teams, and SharePoint.
- Experience with eLearning and multimedia tools such as Captivate, Camtasia, Snagit, or Storyline.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple training initiatives, prioritize effectively, and work independently.
- Willingness to travel to state agency locations across the Commonwealth.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting IT system rollouts and business process transformations.
- Familiarity with large-scale financial systems, particularly involving:
- Chart of Accounts
- Federal Grants Management
- GAAP reporting
- Procurement and Contracting
- Billing, A/R, Project Management, and Analytics
- Prior experience using collaboration and project tools like Jira and Confluence.
- Ability to evaluate training programs and recommend enhancements for improved learning outcomes.
