Description
A QA contractor tests software, identifying and documenting defects while collaborating with QA engineers and Developers to ensure product quality. Responsibilities include designing and executing test cases, maintaining automation scripts, performing regression and performance testing, and creating bug reports. Key qualifications include strong analytical skills, attention to detail, experience with testing apps and devices, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Test Design and Execution: Create and run test plans, test cases, and test scripts for various products and features.
Defect Management: Identify, log, track, and report software defects, providing detailed information to development teams for root cause analysis.
Automation: Maintain automated test scripts to improve efficiency and coverage.
Collaboration: Work closely with developers and cross-functional teams to understand requirements, resolve issues, and ensure quality standards are met.
Reporting: Create automated dashboards from test results and provide detailed reports to stakeholders.
Domain Expertise: Build expertise in specific technologies or business areas to deliver test plans for projects with limited guidance from team members
Essential Skills
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze problems and identify potential areas for improvement.
Attention to Detail: High level of precision in executing tests and reporting defects.
Technical Proficiency: Experience with manual and automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium), scripting (e.g., Python or Shell), and potentially app-based testing and CI/CD pipelines.
Problem-Solving: Ability to debug and troubleshoot issues using log files and other data.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and agile environment.
Experience: Previous experience in quality assurance engineering, test case design, and defect management.
Basic qualifications
4+ years of quality assurance engineering experience
Bachelor's degree
Experience in manual testing
Experience in automation testing
