Volt is immediately hiring Network Planning Engineering in Melbourne, FL
Job Description:
- Support on-call rotation and planned off hours maintenance events as needed
- Troubleshoot and resolve backbone and customer routing issues
- Implement solutions that support customer visions and objectives
- Participate in inter program initiatives and discussions to resolve technical challenges
- Create and maintain documentation and training for engineering and NOC teams
- Maintain operational excellence of network system and components to exceed customer expectations
- Define and implement best practices for network and capacity management
- Identify areas of opportunity for automation and network optimization
- Routinely perform proof of concepts and service trials while documenting system integration
Must have:
- Previous Telco experience/design work/provisioning
- 4+ years of prior WAN Telecommunications networks
- Experience with Ethernet
- Understanding of TDM based technology, must be able to demonstrate the ability to design, implement and support Ethernet and TDM network infrastructures
- AA/AS Degree with 2-4 years experience (Willing to look at work experience in lieu of a degree; if no degree 8 yrs experience)
- Must be Able to obtain a Public Trust
Preferred Skills:
- Prior experience with Meta Solv
- Cisco Design experience
- Experience designing and implementing network technologies such as Carrier Ethernet, MPLS and SDN technologies
- Experience with leading network vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Ciena, RAD
- BA/BS Degree with 4+ years experience
- MEF 2.0 certification and/or equivalent level experience
- CCNA Certification or equivalent work experience a plus
This is a 12 Month full time Contract or Contract to hire opportunity.
Pay Range: $45- $51.99 per hour.
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
