Technical Writer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is looking for a Technical Writer in San Diego or Mountain View, CA preferably.

REQUIREMENTS:
* 4+ years of relevant experience in a Technical Writing role documenting enterprise SaaS products
* Experience with using and documenting any of the following: Programming languages/APIs; Expert ability to create, manage and maintain technical diagrams with minimal guidance; Source control and CI/CD technologies; Best practices for software development, testing, and release management
* Experience with documentation solutions (content management systems, wiki systems, full-text search, etc.)
* Experience working in a docs-as-code environment
* Experience using authoring/content creation tools such as Medium, WordPress, Oxygen XML Editor, OpenGrok, etc.
* Exposure to Cloud technologies (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, etc.)
* Knowledge of technical writing standards and familiarity with common style guides
* Knowledge of open-source development/management tools (Swagger, DITA, etc.)
* Comfortable working within a complex code base across multiple teams and dependencies in a fast-paced and sometimes chaotic development environment
* Proven self-starter with excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and experience building relationships with SMEs and engineers
* Strong ability to write clear and effective technical content tailored for developer audiences

Bonus:
* Experience writing technical content, documentation, or tutorials at a FinTech or Payments company
* Portfolio of writing samples, including examples of documenting complex systems for expert audiences
* Background in development as SWE or developer advocacy role

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
