Job Details

DTS is looking for Quality Engineer for our client Position in Brazil, Indiana

 

Position Summary
The Quality Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring that all products meet strict
aerospace quality standards. This includes overseeing inspection processes, performing
root cause analyses, supporting continuous improvement, and programming and operating
coordinate measuring machines (CMM) using OpenDMIS software.

Key Responsibilities
· Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, customer-specific requirements, and
internal standards.
· Develop, maintain, and execute CMM programs using OpenDMIS software for accurate
and repeatable inspection of aerospace components.
· Perform First Article Inspections (FAIs), in-process, and final inspections to verify
compliance with engineering drawings and GD&T.
· Lead root cause investigations and corrective/preventive actions (RCA/CAPA) using 8D,
5-Why, and Fishbone methods.
· Support production and engineering teams in resolving quality issues and implementing
process improvements.
· Maintain inspection documentation, quality control plans, and internal procedures.
· Monitor key quality metrics (e.g., scrap rate, yield, DPPM) and recommend
improvement actions.
· Conduct internal quality audits and support customer and third-party audits.
· Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and support incoming inspection
processes.
· Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives across the
production floor.
Qualifications


Required:

· Minimum 3 years of experience in quality engineering in a precision manufacturing or
aerospace environment.
· Proficient in CMM programming using OpenDMIS and interpreting complex part
drawings and GD&T.
· Strong understanding of AS9100, ISO 9001, and aerospace compliance requirements.
· Hands-on experience with measurement tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height
gauges, CMMs).
· Strong problem-solving, analytical, and documentation skills.

Preferred:
· Certifications such as CQE, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or experience with AS9102 FAI
reporting.
· Experience with ERP systems and digital quality systems.
· Knowledge of NADCAP, ITAR, and aerospace material traceability.
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing) or equivalent
technical experience.
Work Environment
On-site at the Brazil, Indiana facility.
Work will be performed in both office and manufacturing/inspection environments.
Use of PPE and adherence to safety standards is required in shop areas.
