Senior Endpoint Consultant: Lead Assessor (Contract)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Endpoint Consultant to lead an enterprise Endpoint Management Optimization Assessment. This short-term consulting engagement focuses on analyzing, rationalizing, and optimizing a large organization s endpoint agent environment.
The consultant will assess existing endpoint tools, identify redundancies, and deliver strategic recommendations to streamline management, reduce complexity, and modernize the endpoint technology stack. This fully remote engagement requires strong technical expertise, analytical acumen, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and executive stakeholders.
This project is ideal for consultants who specialize in endpoint management, cybersecurity, or IT operations and who thrive on high-impact, clearly defined project work.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment & Analysis
- Conduct a comprehensive assessment of existing endpoint management tools and agents.
- Validate agent presence, versioning, coverage, and operational status across environments.
- Review architecture diagrams, deployment guides, and operational processes.
- Lead stakeholder interviews to understand current-state usage and business value.
Functional Mapping & Evaluation
- Categorize agents by function (visibility, control, remediation, privilege management, telemetry, etc.).
- Identify overlapping functionalities and inefficiencies.
- Evaluate strategic fit based on coverage, integration, scalability, vendor alignment, and operational overhead.
Recommendations & Roadmap
- Propose a consolidated, cost-effective agent stack that aligns with security and operational goals.
- Develop replacement strategies for legacy tools and outline migration considerations.
- Create a staged roadmap for rationalization and cloud-native modernization (e.g., transition to Intune).
- Provide recommendations for training, communication, and adoption governance.
Reporting & Collaboration
- Produce executive-level summaries, process maps, and technology alignment matrices.
- Present findings and recommendations to project stakeholders.
- Collaborate with project management and technical teams to ensure consistency and clarity in deliverables.
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, IT, or Cybersecurity (Master s preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in endpoint management, cybersecurity, or IT operations.
- Proven experience with agent-based tools such as SCCM/MECM, Tanium, Intune, CyberArk EPM, Forescout, Sophos, Absolute, or SecureONE.
- Demonstrated success in tool rationalization, migration planning, or endpoint optimization projects.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills with the ability to produce executive-ready deliverables.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills for working across distributed, remote teams.
- Relevant certifications preferred: Microsoft Endpoint Administrator, CISSP, CISM, Tanium Certified Operator, CyberArk Defender, etc.
