Job Title: Data Engineer Azure, Python, Databricks
Location: Houston
Type : Contract
Key Responsibilities: Design and implement scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and PySpark Develop ETL/ELT workflows to ingest, transform, and load structured and unstructured data Optimize data storage and processing using Delta Lake, Azure Synapse, and other cloud-native tools Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver clean, reliable datasets Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance data workflows for performance and reliability Implement data governance, security, and compliance standards across the data ecosystem Document technical designs, data models, and operational procedures
Required Skills & Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in data engineering or related field
Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, scripting, and automation
Hands-on experience with Azure services: Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse, Key Vault, etc.
Strong knowledge of Databricks, Spark, and Delta Lake architecture
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and DevOps practices
Solid understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and performance tuning
Experience with REST APIs, JSON, and data serialization formats
Preferred Qualifications: Azure certifications (e.g., DP-203: Data Engineering on Microsoft Azure) Experience with MLflow, Power BI, or other visualization tools Knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.) Background in local-state-federal government, healthcare, or enterprise IT environments
