Lead Flight Controls Engineer (GNC Engineer)

Target Salary: $120k - $140k, plus annual bonus
Job Description:
Looking for an experienced and innovative flight guidance, navigation, controls engineer who can lead and drive development efforts for advanced systems . This role involves designing and optimizing dynamic system behaviors, mentoring a high-performing engineering team, and collaborating across multiple disciplines to deliver cutting-edge performance solutions. Will design, prototype, implement and test new control behaviors for customer requirements. Enhance sensor information and control algorithms. Do research and find optimal sensor locations on aircraft. Develop analysis tools to process data from flight telemetry.

Job Description:

Required Skills:
- 6+years experience in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in Robotics and/or Flight Control Systems
- Data Analysis with Matlab or heavy building Python data models
- C and C++ programming experience
- Experience with flight dynamics, state estimation (position, acceleration, velocity, altitude, etc...), and control techniques
- Understanding of flight sensors, accelerometers, magnetometers, GPS receivers
- Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
Bonus / Soft Skills:
- PX4 flight stack
- Configuration Management tools such as GIT, Gitlab, and Jenkins
- Very comfortable working with both technical and non-technical teams
- Patience and willingness to explain engineering principles with other staff and customers
- Willingness to occasionally travel to the field testing areas for flight controls testing of aircraft
