JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Desktop Support is responsible for providing advanced support of hardware and software on all desktops and laptops. This role supports all users on helpdesk matters and managing Active Directory (AD) administration and contributing to networking tasks.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The majority of this work takes place in an office and the work environment is that of a typical office environment in a manufacturing setting where noise levels are usually moderate. Frequently the employee will interact with personnel in the plant where he/she may be exposed to higher noise levels.

The Senior Desktop Support is responsible for providing advanced support of hardware and software on all desktops and laptops. This role supports all users on helpdesk matters and managing Active Directory (AD) administration and contributing to networking tasks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Installs, configures, and troubleshoots desktop systems, workstations, servers, and network issues in a heterogeneous environment.
- Upgrading and patching Windows systems.
- Manages and maintains user accounts in Active Directory, including user provisioning, permissions, and group policies.
- Maintains passwords, data integrity and file system security for the desktop environment.
- Adds new users to all platforms.
- Leads troubleshooting efforts for complex network connectivity issues and collaborates with networking teams, as necessary.
- Manages desktop management solutions, including Microsoft Intune and Apple Business Manager.
- Develops and maintains documentation for support processes, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles.
- Collaborates with other IT teams to identify and implement improvements in processes and systems.
- Recommends hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades
- Conducts regular system audits and software updates to ensure compliance and security.
- Provides exceptional customer service, ensuring timely and effective communication with users throughout the support process.
- Supports DHCP, DNS, and VLAN configurations.
- Maintains asset tracking systems and oversees the lifecycle management of IT assets. Conducts regular audits of inventory.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of experience in desktop support or a related IT support role.
- Strong proficiency in Active Directory administration and user management.
- Experience with Microsoft Intune and Apple Business Manager.
- Understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting techniques.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate) are preferred.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for task automation.
- Experience with remote support tools and methodologies.
- Knowledge of ITIL or similar frameworks is a plus.
- Working knowledge of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
- Previous Sr. Helpdesk experience preferred.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
