Overview

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training. We are looking for a mission-driven professional with a Top-Secret clearance to join our team as a Systems Administrator.

Responsibilities

As a Systems Administrator, you will have the opportunity to do the following:
  • Join an already established team with an opportunity to grow.
  • Support a Department of Justice, FBI program, who designs, builds, and implements highly technical data collection systems.
  • Support a technology lab who dynamically implements technology to meet their outside customers uniquely defined evidence collection needs.

  • Provide professional and detailed writing services.
  • Support basic computer problem identification, and perform equipment repairs as necessary.
  • Have a understanding of Windows, Linux, VMWare, Hyper-V, and Remote Desktop.
  • Have experience setting up, repairing basic computer equipment to include installing new or replacement of computer drives and memory.
  • Support direct or remote interface with customers on support needs.
  • Clearly communicates technical solutions with stakeholders and team members.
  • Interact with IT Security and Infrastructure teams to ensure secure deployment and maintenance of solutions.
  • Linux / Windows Administration
    • Responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and managing Linux /Windows servers or desktops. Duties can range from installing and configuring software, managing user accounts, backing up data, ensuring system security, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Active Directory Administration:
    • Logging into using a Domain Controller or Remote Server tool.
    • Navigating the Active Directory Interface.
    • Manage Users and Groups.
    • Understanding of Organization Units.
  • SQL Server Administration:
    • Implement and support backup and recovery.
    • Understanding of stored procedure maintenance.
    • Understanding of the SQL Server Profiler (monitoring) and Agent (automation) tools.
  • PowerShell / Bash Implementation:
    • Install/upgrade/maintain the scripting tools.
    • Setup/Run scripts to perform basic queries of data sets.
    • Setup/Run scripts to automate batch jobs such as remote upgrades and data backups.

Qualifications

  • Active Top-Secret Clearance required with the willingness to take an agency CI polygraph when requested.
  • High School Diploma (HS) and 13+ years, Associates Degree (AS) and 10+ years, Bachelors' Degree (BS) and 6+ years or Masters'
  • Degree (MS) and 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Effective communications skills and able to effectively brief audiences.

Ability to:
  • Organize work so assignments are completed in a timely manner,
  • Perform analysis and quickly resolve issues,
  • Multi-task, and or
  • Take direction from lead team members.
