High-Energy Laser Beam Control Engineer

Radiance Technologies, a rapidly growing employee-owned company supporting US Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC), is seeking a skilled Optical / Beam Control Engineer to support high energy lasing and lethality testing conducted at Solid-state Laser Testbed (SSLT) located at the Limor / HELSTF Site. This individual will design, integrate, test, and analyze a variety of low- & high-power optical systems. This candidate will work as a part-time individual contributor and within a diverse, multi-discipline engineering team supporting and leading multiple, simultaneous efforts.

Must be willing to travel to White Sands, NM.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Optical Engineering, Optical Science, Laser Engineering, Electro-Optics, Photonics, or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Hard Science with an Optics focus.
• Minimum of 15 years applicable experience
• ship with the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.
• Demonstrated proficiency in optics design & setup, instrumentation design & setup, data capture & analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to design, integrate, and test optical systems for high energy lasers.
• Demonstrated proficiency using a variety of optical metrology equipment.
• Demonstrated proficiency with the field testing of directed energy systems.
• Ability to travel ~10% time

Desired Skills:

• Master's Degree in Optical Engineering, Optical Science, Laser Engineering, Electro-Optics, Photonics, or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Hard Science with an Optics focus.
• Security clearance
• Demonstrated proficiency using tools such as Zemax, MATLAB, LabVIEW, Image / Data Acquisition software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrated ability to assist customers with optical component recommendations.
• Demonstrated ability to perform in demanding, rapidly changing test environment.
