Site Reliability Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer in Westlake, TX.

Duties:
* Provides a mixture of Techno-functional expertise and assists in crisis management for major system outages or issues with major impact to the business
* Consults with application development and business groups on problems, incidents, service requests, patch upgrades, release upgrades, infrastructure updates

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree or higher in a technology related field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science) required; Master's degree is a plus
* 5+ years of hands-on experience deploying and / or supporting highly distributed multi-tiered systems at scale
* 1-2 years of experience in cloud environment (AWS) and migration skills; Experience with building and operating highly resilient platforms in AWS cloud environments
* 1-2 years of experience in software development with Python, Linux Scripting with a focus on SDLC and automation
* 1-2 years of experience with Ansible; Proven experience, demonstrating automation of system configurations, deployment and orchestration
* Hands on experience with container orchestration, preferably with Kubernetes
* Experience operating and implementing distributed and highly concurrent service-based
* Must have experience working in a production support role and building reliability through Observability and resiliency practices
* Must have experience working with a relational database system
* Hands-on experience with one or more Observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, Open Telemetry, Datadog, etc.)
* Experienced in instrumentation with systems skills on building and operating, monitoring, logging, alerting services of distributed applications at scale
* Proven experience in maintaining scalability and resiliency of complex environments
* Proven technical background with high degree of comfort with Linux, Oracle Databases, Cloud Technologies and ITSM-based Methodologies
* Solid understanding of Cloud Computing, DevOps concepts including CI/CD Pipelines
* Hands-on Kubernetes skills and knowledge
* Strong interpersonal skills and abilities to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats
* Good organizational and project management skills to navigate through high volume of set up activities with tight deadlines

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
