Job Details

The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) has a unique job opportunity for an ERP System Project Director for the Business Enhancement System Transformation (BEST) Project, a CGI Advantage 3.x implementation.

 

LACOE is in the midst of a multi-year project, transforming legacy systems into a modern Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system that integrates financial, procurement, payroll, and human resources management systems for more than 125 agencies, including school districts, community colleges, charter schools, and joint powers authorities.

 

The current phase of the project includes the integration of the payroll and human resources management functions for all participating agencies as well as the upgrade to CGI Advantage 4.x. The ERP Systems Project Director will plan, coordinate, and manage the development, implementation, rollout, and upgrade of the county-wide integrated ERP business system. The duration of this role is expected to be two years.

Required Education and Experience


Education: A bachelor s degree in information technology, systems engineering, technology management, business administration, or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

Experience: Six years of experience in managing complex, computerized business systems projects including management-level responsibility for an organization-wide implementation and change management of an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system from requirements determination through system implementation in a public sector setting.

Equivalency Provision: Professional certification in project management such as a Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) or equivalent is desired and can substitute for one year of required experience.

Additional Requirements: A valid California driver's license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites is required. Hybrid remote schedules may be available. To ensure the health and safety of its staff, LACOE may require employees to provide evidence of full vaccination against COVID-19.
