Job Title: AWS Cloud Operations SME

Location: Rockville, MD (Onsite from Day 1)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Cloud Operations Lead to manage and oversee cloud infrastructure operations with a primary focus on AWS. This role demands strong technical expertise in AWS cloud environments, a deep understanding of troubleshooting complex cloud issues, and the ability to lead a high-performing operations team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in team coordination, mentoring, and optimizing cloud operations for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

  • Strong expertise and hands-on experience with AWS (Kubernetes, EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda, RDS, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, etc.).
  • Solid background in cloud infrastructure management, automation (IaC), and monitoring.
  • Deep troubleshooting skills across compute, network, and storage in AWS.
  • Experience with incident management and problem resolution in cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with tools like CloudWatch, Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar.

Leadership & Soft Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in functional team leadership task planning, mentoring, and team development.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to guide team members and promote cloud best practices across the organization.
  • Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced, critical operations environment.

Other Requirements:

  • Experience in regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, finance) is a plus.
  • AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS SysOps Admin, DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect) are highly preferred.
