Job Title: Semiconductor Design Engineer Location: Cupertino, CA (5x/ week onsite) Duration: 12 months
Demonstrable track record of developing engineered solutions, preferably involving HW and SW, including definition, sourcing, bring-up, debug, production qualification and scaling.
Required Skills: SoC, ASIC, Verilog, VHDL, System Verilog, RTL Design, Custom SoC, Digital Design.
Design and Development: Engineers design and develop semiconductor components and subsystems, such as microprocessors, memory chips, and SoCs.
Collaboration and Communication: Semiconductor Design Engineers collaborate with process engineers, test engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet product requirements.
Troubleshooting and Debugging: Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues, ensuring successful product development and release.
Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and review detailed design documentation.
Performance and Cost Optimization: Optimize designs for performance, power consumption, and cost, while adhering to quality and safety standards.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Digital Design Concepts, Semiconductor design principles, Device physics, and manufacturing processes. RTL design skills using Verilog, System Verilog, Exposure to complex designs and protocols like PCIe, CXL, ARM subsystem, SATA, DDRx etc. Good experience in Synthesis and Timing closure and low power design flow, partition and UPF creation. Strong understanding of DFT concepts.
Programming and Scripting: Experience with programming languages like Verilog, VHDL, and scripting languages for automation.
Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve design issues.
