Senior Technical Business Analyst
Our client, a leading Pacific Northwest utility provider committed to public service and environmental preservation, is looking for a Senior Technical Business Analyst. In this role you will assist the enterprise shared services manager to help administer a broad range of activities supporting the Information Services organization, including Software Development & Ops, Quality Control, and IT Project Management. Collaboration within and with other IT organizations is critical for this position. This position requires someone with strong communication skills, able to present information to audiences with a variety of levels of exposure to the topic/project. Key Responsibilities for Senior Technical Business Analyst:

  • Perform interviews and research for recommendation of IT business requirements and translate them into specifications for complex technical projects.
  • Assist in change management activities with the business:
  • Draft and facilitate change management plans that minimize employee resistance, maximize employee engagement, and empower senior management as change sponsors.
  • Focus on the people side of changes introduced by the business technology project including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and skills, and organizational structures.
  • Plan, design, and facilitate requirements gathering sessions and meetings for projects or assignments.
  • Lead requirements elicitation workshops and present findings.
  • Perform technical interviewing in the Information Technology environment.
  • Provide mentorship to other analysts and technical staff in analysis, planning, and execution of project plans.
  • Draft documentation for project development efforts (including use cases, requirements, test plans, process maps, and desk procedures) and work closely with development team and business teams to support successful implementation.
  • Provide effective communication including facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
  • In collaboration with the CIO, IT Program, or Budget Analysts and IT Managers support project planning and cost tracking activities.
  • Analyze data and provide reports on budgets and IT assets to the IT Executive management.
  • Coordinate and participate in project, budget, and asset planning meetings with IT supervisors.
  • Produce and post a variety of monthly financial reports for management.
  • Interpret business needs and translate them into business process and system functional requirements for assigned systems.
  • Document findings of studies and prepare recommendations for implementation of new systems, procedures, or organizational changes.
  • Perform fit gap analysis and work with technical staff on approaches to audit results, mitigation plans, and remediation plans.
  • Gather and organize information to provide status updates and support operational metric tracking and audit reviews and processes.
  • Collaborate with Governance & Compliance to monitor and support audit remediation items and provide recommendations to IT supervisors and staff on entering and updating information for tracking purposes.
  • Create Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, Power Point presentations, Visio flowcharts, and Project input.
  • Communicate with a wide variety of technical and business experts in both individual and group settings.
  • Mark documents and maintain filing system(s), files, emails, and records in accordance with compliance requirements

Requirements/Qualification for Senior Technical Business Analyst:

  • A bachelor s degree in computer/information technology, business systems (or related technical field) is preferred.
  • 8 years of experience is required with an applicable bachelor s degree.
  • 12 years of experience is required without a degree or an applicable degree.
  • Experience should include work with business analysis and information technology.
  • 8+ years of analyst experience using modeling languages, technical product life cycle concepts and requirements engineering, among other applied skills and knowledge.
  • 2+ years of experience with SharePoint.
  • Experience with Power BI preferred.
  • Experience with Visio preferred.
  • The ability to be in office up to 2 times per year for all staff meetings
