IT Systems Administrator & Solution Architect

Own the Backbone of a High-Powered Manufacturing Operation
Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and lead the charge in a dynamic, always-on manufacturing environment? We're looking for a versatile, forward-thinking IT Systems Administrator who also thrives as a Solution Architect. In this role, you ll be the driving force behind critical systems uptime, cutting-edge infrastructure, and future-focused technology solutions.

Your Role & Responsibilities
Systems Administration
Own end-to-end management of physical and virtual servers, storage, and networked systems.
Administer and support Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and hybrid cloud environments.
Manage Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, Azure AD).
Conduct regular system health checks, optimize performance, and ensure tight security controls.
Lead system backups, disaster recovery planning, and high-availability strategies.
Deliver Tier III support and act as a key escalation point.
Partner with an MSP for complex infrastructure support and project delivery.
Solution Architecture
Design scalable, secure, and cost-efficient infrastructure and cloud solutions.
Lead projects from ideation through implementation server builds, platform integrations, migrations, and more.
Collaborate with leadership to define the IT roadmap and align solutions with business strategy.
Turn evolving business requirements into rock-solid technical outcomes.
Collaboration & Vendor Oversight
Act as the bridge between internal teams and external MSPs.
Monitor service delivery, uphold SLAs, and ensure high-quality outcomes.
Coordinate resources and timelines to keep infrastructure initiatives on track.
Mentorship & Documentation
Provide daily mentorship and technical guidance to the Level 2 IT Support Specialist.
Develop SOPs, document configurations, and contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing.
Security & Compliance
Implement security best practices, manage endpoints, and enforce access controls.
Align infrastructure with cybersecurity frameworks like NIST and CIS.
Ensure audit readiness and change control documentation.

What You Bring
Bachelor s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
7+ years of experience in systems administration or infrastructure engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or 24/7 environment.
Proven skills with Windows Server, VMware, Hyper-V, Microsoft 365, Azure, and DR tools.
Ability to design and implement scalable, secure IT solutions.
Strong documentation, troubleshooting, and leadership capabilities.
Willing to participate in an on-call rotation.
Preferred Certifications:
(Not required, but a strong plus)
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator / Solutions Architect
CompTIA Server+, Network+, or Security+
VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
ITIL Foundation
Cisco CCNA / CCNP
