MCS Group are excited to be working with one of our regular clients as they look to add a Unity Developer (C#) to their team on a contract basis.
Location: Hybrid role, mostly remote but have ability to go onsite when needed, so ideally NH, MA.
No sponsorship or c2c available. W2 only. No agencies, please do not submit candidates.
The Company
This is a fast-moving startup working at the edge of healthcare tech, think medical devices meets cutting-edge AI. They're building tools that help machines "see" the world better, and their tech is already making a difference. They have an office in New Hampshire, but they're remote-friendly and looking to bring on a contract Unity Developer to support some exciting R&D work.
The Role
You'll be joining a small, sharp team working on a high-performance Unity-based simulation that generates synthetic data for training computer vision models. Basically, you're helping create the virtual environments that teach AI how to recognize objects.
Day-to-day, you'll be writing a lot of C#, fine-tuning the system for speed and accuracy, and building tools that automate the creation of complex scenes. You'll work closely with AI engineers to make sure the data being generated is exactly what the models need.
Here's what you'll be doing:
- Keeping the Unity simulation running smoothly (URP/HDRP-based).
- Writing scripts and tools to speed up scene building, generate object variations, and ground truth label export (bounding boxes, masks, depth maps etc).
- Collaborating with the AI team to figure out what kind of synthetic data is needed and helping generate it.
- Optimizing performance so everything runs fast and clean, even during big data capture sessions.
- Managing code in Git, building reliable tools, and making sure everything's well tested and documented.
The Person
You're a Unity pro who loves solving tricky problems and building things that work really well. You've worked on complex projects before and know how to balance performance, quality, and maintainability. If you've ever worked with synthetic data or computer vision tools-that's a big plus.
Must-haves:
- Hands-on Unity experience with solid C# skills.
- Comfortable with 3D math, Unity workflows, and a bit of shader know how.
- You've worked on projects involving synthetic data or machine learning before.
- Familiar with CI/CD tools and automated builds for Unity.
- You write clean, readable code and aren't afraid to dive into debugging when needed.
Nice-to-haves:
- You know your way around annotation formats like YOLO or COCO.
- Background in robotics, simulation, or photorealistic rendering is a bonus.
No sponsorship or c2c available. W2 only. No agencies
