The successful candidate will be an expert in Okta's access management capabilities, responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our client's single sign-on (SSO) and multi-factor authentication (MFA) solutions. This is a hands-on role requiring deep technical expertise and a strong understanding of identity and access management (IAM) principles to meet the client's project goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Okta Solution Design and Implementation: Design, configure, and implement Okta solutions for access management, with a primary focus on SSO and MFA for new and existing applications within the client's environment.
  • Application Integration: Integrate a wide variety of the client's applications with Okta for SSO, using protocols such as SAML, OIDC, and SWA.
  • Enterprise Integration: Integrate Okta with other enterprise services such as CyberArk, Microsoft Entra ID, and other IAM solutions.
  • Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts, using PowerShell or other languages, to automate administrative tasks and workflows.
  • Access Policy Management: Develop and maintain Okta access policies, including sign-on policies and MFA configurations, to ensure secure and compliant access to client applications.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Act as the subject matter expert for Okta-related issues, providing advanced troubleshooting for SSO and MFA-related incidents. Serve as an escalation point for the project team.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure that all Okta configurations and integrations adhere to the client's security standards and compliance requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with client application owners, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver robust access management solutions.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of Okta configurations, integrations, and processes for project deliverables.

Qualifications and Experience

Required:

  • Okta Expertise: Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Okta, with a demonstrated focus on access management, including SSO, MFA, and Universal Directory. Okta Certified Professional or Okta Certified Administrator is highly desirable.
  • IAM Fundamentals: Strong understanding of identity and access management (IAM) concepts and principles, including the distinction between access management and identity governance and administration (IGA).
  • SSO Protocols: In-depth knowledge of SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and SCIM.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with integrating a variety of applications (SaaS, on-prem) with Okta.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, LDAP, and other directory services.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell or other scripting languages for automation is necessary.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in a project-based environment.

Desired:

  • Experience working in a professional services or consulting environment on client-facing projects.
  • Familiarity with other IAM tools and technologies (e.g., CyberArk, SailPoint, Microsoft Entra ID).
  • Understanding of ITIL processes for incident, change, and problem management.
