We are looking for a talented Software Engineering Lead to join Wealth Management Technology. The team charter is to provide Core Banking solutions to Wealth Management business users. You will work with the vendor product team, development team, program/project managers, business/data analysts and the business sponsors across the Wealth Management IT organization to ensure the system meets all technical specifications.

What you'll do in the role:
  • Ensure adherence to the standard SDLC processes
  • Ensure all Technology and Information Risk guidelines are followed
  • Evaluate the Project's architecture and identify opportunities for broadening the scope of the solution
  • Be self-motivated, flexible, adaptable and an excellent team player, and be prepared to work in a global virtual team along with NY and offshore team members
  • Work with senior Business Partners and Program Management team to deliver the solution
  • Ensure project deliverables are completed on time, within budget and to the highest level of quality
  • Mentor junior team members
  • Work with application support teams to ensure timely issue resolution and thorough support processes
  • Handle vendor product relationship

What you'll bring to the role:
  • Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
  • 5+ years of development experience in a high paced, pressure-oriented environment
  • Full software development life cycle experience
  • Expert at Java, Kafka, MQ and RESTful API's
  • Experience testing software (e.g. unit testing, testing frameworks)
  • Experience handling vendor product implementation
  • Comfortable with source control tools, preferably Git
  • Experience with web service development and Services Oriented Architecture
  • Experience working with Agile development teams at scale
  • Good communication skills (both written and oral), listening skills, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Experience with performance tuning, trouble shooting and remediation
  • Experience in the financial domain and understanding of portfolio management functions
  • Ability to develop and follow change management processes for consistent and maintainable versions
  • Self-motivated individual and creative thinker who will take ownership of tasks
  • Strong data analysis skills and attention to detail

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $170,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
