Director of Program Management

We are seeking an experienced Director of Program Management for new product development for our client located in Houston, TX. This candidate will lead cross-functional product development initiatives and drive the successful launch of innovative hardware and software solutions. This role will oversee the full product lifecycle from concept through commercialization ensuring projects are delivered with quality, on time, and within budget.

This is an Onsite Full Time (Requirement)

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leadership to define and execute product development strategies through a structured stage-gate process.
  • Lead, plan, and coordinate cross-functional teams across Engineering, Product Management, Field Services, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to ensure seamless new product introductions.
  • Manage a team of program project managers, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Drive gate reviews, change requests, and provide timely project updates through weekly and monthly reporting.
  • Identify interdependence and manage detailed project plans and schedules.
  • Present program status and risks to stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on NPI and stage-gate methodologies, offering mentorship and process improvement leadership.
  • Continuously enhance program and project management processes by incorporating lessons learned and industry best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Engineering required
  • MBA or PMP certification preferred.
  • 10+ years of engineering program management experience across hardware, firmware, software, and mechanical disciplines.
  • Proven track record of leading NPI (New Product Introduction) programs through a structured stage/gate process.
  • Strong technical understanding of product development, production tooling, process creation, and supply chain coordination.
  • Skilled in project planning, risk management, and conflict resolution.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project, Asana and Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to move about a manufacturing facility as needed.
