The Control Engineer will be instrumental in designing and supporting process control systems for refined products and petrochemical pipeline operations. This position requires a minimum of 7 years of experience in the field, with a strong focus on implementation and configuration of control systems.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement process control strategies to improve reliability and safety of the pipeline systems.
- Provide engineering and technical support for existing process control systems and instrumentation.
- Develop and maintain documentation standards for process control configurations, safety systems, and loop tuning.
- Collaborate with local operations teams to provide guidance and support on process control projects, including scope definition and cost estimation.
- Configure and maintain HMI and PLC platforms, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
- Lead initiatives for the development of applications using Wonderware Intouch HMI and Allen Bradley Control Logix PLCs.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide 24/7 support to operations as needed, including up to 10% travel.
- Engage with contractors and all levels of internal staff effectively, ensuring clear and professional communication.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering is required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in process control systems implementation in storage and pipeline sectors.
- Proven experience in configuration and maintenance of various HMI and PLC platforms.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards related to documentation, safety systems, loop tuning, and PLC configuration.
- Hands-on experience with Wonderware Intouch HMI and Allen Bradley Control Logix PLCs.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of effective interaction with all organizational levels.
- Availability to travel up to 10% and participate in an on-call rotation schedule.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
