Job Description

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Lead and Implement Site Reliability Engineer ("SRE") frameworks to support global Azure cloud environments and ensure the highest level of SLOs through operational excellence. Understand service level indicators and utilizes service level objectives to proactively resolve issues before they impact customers. Collaborate with cloud platform engineers and teams to design, develop, test, and implement availability, reliability, scalability, and solutions in the Azure Cloud platform. Participate in 24x7 SRE on-call rotations and escalation workflows. Provide support to develop & improve the quality of technical engineering documentation. Work with other software engineers and teams to design and implement deployment approaches using automated continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines. Implement infrastructure, configuration, and network as code for the applications and platforms in your remit.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Site Reliability Engineer, Cloud Architect, IT Consultant, Project Engineer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Site Reliability Engineer, Cloud Architect, IT Consultant, Project Engineer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires 3 years of experience with the following: site reliability engineering monitoring Service Level Objectives(SLO), Service Level Indicators(SLI), Error Budgets. This position requires any amount of experience with the following: container and container orchestration including Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, ECS, Docker, and HELM; Azure Cloud; at least one programming language including Python, Java, PowerShell, Spring Boot, .Net, or GO; REST APIs; observability including white and black box monitoring, service level objective alerting, and telemetry collection using tools including Data Dog, Prometheus, Splunk, Elasticsearch, Grafana, Azure monitoring and continuous integration and continuous delivery tools including GitLab, Terraform and Jenkins; and implement site reliability within an application or platform.
